Early Childhood Music curriculum/ Voice/ Piano/ Executive Director for Music Stimulates Our Minds Mission

For Cecilia Myhres, music was always an integral part of her life from early childhood to performing in various competition ensembles (concert choirs, sextet, and madrigals). Over the past 25 years, she's performed in various local bands: The Stardusters Big Band, Silver CIty Review and Hindsight acoustic Duo where she has performed at many of the Coast's casinos.  She began teaching the Music Together® curriculum in the Spring of 2009 after training in NY with Dr. Lili Levinowitz (Music Professor at Rowan University and Co-author of the Music Together Program).  Cecilia brought the Music Together curriculum to the state of MS and started with 1 class of 6 students/families and currently teaches 4 class (with over 30 students/families). She's recently added the new Wunderkeys curriculum (introduction to piano for preschoolers) and she enjoys teaching voice lessons to individuals from age 6 to adult. In 2015 she became the "In School provider" for the Music Together Big Kids® curriculum at the Treehouse Montessori Christian School of Ocean Springs.  She enjoys performing with various worship bands on the coast. In 2018, Cecilia co-founded the 501c3, Music Stimulates Our Minds Mission, enabling her to reach all individuals within the coummunity that otherwise wouldn't be able to participate in musical activities. In May 2025, she was honored to have been one of 800 women nominated and selected as one of Gulf Coast Woman Magazine "Top 100 successful women to know" recognizing her contribution her community.
