Music Together® Mixed Ages class 0-5yr What is Music Together?
This class is designed for parents/caregivers and their children. A child can attend from birth through age five – and through all nine song collections. By grouping children of a variety of ages together, along with their adult caregivers and teachers, each child will discover the joyful world of music in a family setting. This approach fosters natural, family-style learning where younger children enjoy watching and imitating older children, and the older children learn by leading the younger children. Babies eight months and younger may attend the Mixed Ages class free with their registered older sibling.
Each child participates at his or her own developmental level. Activities include singing, moving, chanting, listening, observing and exploring instruments. Families enrolled in this class have the opportunity to share these musical activities at home. Materials include two compact discs of songs introduced in class, a songbook for parents and an appropriate rhythm instrument for each child. Each semester includes a new collection of music in a wide variety of musical styles. This class is 45 minutes long and will meet once a week for 8 weeks (Winter, Fall & Spring semesters) and 4 weeks in the Summer. Class size is a minimum of 6 children and a maximum of 10 children.
